Materials

Our material experience is extensive, encompassing a large range of plastics. We can advise you on the material required to best suit your needs. Details of our most frequently used materials are below.

Cast Acrylic

Cast Acrylic is the original thermoplastic material. Available in a wide range of colours, textures and finishes. It is exceptionally hard wearing, has outstanding clarity and has excellent weather resistance.

Extruded Acrylic

Extruded Acrylic is made by a less expensive process and is one of the best thermoplastics.  It has a good performance with a high gloss surface and is also exceptionally hard wearing.

PETG (Polyethylene Terepthalate Glycol)

PETG is very cost effective and has a high impact strength. It has the capability to produce complex shapes and compound curves without worrying about durability. It has excellent transparency with a high gloss surface. It is sterilisable and also recyclable.

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)

ABS is used largely for mechanical purposes and vacuum forming but also has very good electrical properties. It is superior for its hardness, toughness, gloss finish and electrical insulation.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene is a semi-rigid translucent plastic with a good chemical resistance. It is light in weight but tough with good fatigue resistance. It has a low moisture absorption with good resistance to staining and bacterial growth which makes it suitable to be used in medical equipment and food preparation areas.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate has the transparency of glass at less than half the weight yet is still a tough plastic. It has a high impact resistance, high light transmission, weather and UV resistant with a high UV protection.
